It would have been less pejorative if Trebek asked about the Aloha State…

That question is much more difficult than the ones usually used on Celebrity Jeopardy.

    e.g. “Who’s buried in Grant’s Tomb.”

I’ve NEVER understood the Oklahoma “Boomer Sooner” phrase. It’s just so clumsy…

Help. I get the Boomer Esiason joke. I get that the abbreviation for Oklahoma is OK. I see Tony Danza and Willem Dafoe. But how does any of that relate to a “pejorative retort” which is a disparaging comment? The University of Oklahoma fight song, by the way, is Boomer Sooner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qILOCvvF-cA

I first saw the above joke on a SuperBowl commercial. But Hilburn took it to a new level but referencing OK. Nice!

I really, really hate “Okay, Boomer.” It’s stereotyping a whole generation, and the some of the kids who use it insult anyone older than they are with it. One little snot in a group I belong to said that Boomers knew nothing and brought nothing to technology. I said, “Steve Jobs.” I could have added Bill Gates, etc., but he shut up.

It took me a while to realize the football player’s name and put it together. As a woman who doesn’t watch football, it was a distant memory of an unusual name that finally came through.
