That whole set up is very, very sketchy… I would tell people to stay away from that until Baldo can buy a proper set of jack stands from his job in an AUTO PARTS STORE! ;-)
This is one of those things that is so nonsensical that any jokes get swamped. What was Sergio’s plan for this? The worst possible thing I can think of is for Baldo to sink whatever money he makes at his job into a deteriorating hulk.
Given the state of the car, any half-way decent restoration will be well into the tens of thousands. Right now it just takes up room, and Baldo can’t drive it anywhere.
My Dad never let me do the engine until I had the rest of the car ready. I did three cars in H. S. 54 Ford (freshman), 55 Chevy (sophomore) and 62 Chevy (junior). The Ford was a 6 cylinder. the 55 with a 265 CI V-8 and the 62 was a 348 CI V-8. I had to sell the previous car before he would let me do another, with the money I got from selling the car. I think he was trying to teach me something. Each car took all summer but none of them were in as bad a shape as Baldo’s.
Before you get an engine, get yourself on down to the auto junkyard and get yourself 3 wheels to fill in the 3 that are missing. Then, a driver’s side door. Then, fix the convertible roof. First, get the missing pieces that are cheapest. Give yourself an emotional boost. Why get an engine when the other less expensive pieces are missing?

Not going to get an engine just yet. At least the cinder blocks are holding up.

Installing an engine may be the easiest, cheapest part of the restoration, kid.

Rims and tires would be good…. as well as a plan for restoration..

By this time…some progress should have been made….a tarp to cover the car?

I’m wondering what’s holding the wheel on the front passenger side since there doesn’t appear to be an axle.

Baldo you get to do it the old school way, rebuild the existing engine. Don’t just be a parts swapper.

If that eyesore was in a driveway in my neighborhood I’d sure make sure it was removed…

Even if he didn’t the answer would be the same.

He needs to watch old episodes of “The Waltons” to get ideas for car parts scrounging from the Character, Jim Bob.
