Zen is (partly) about the concept of non-dualism: By saying “everything is one” you inevitably bring up the concept of “one” as distinct from “another”. But the universe is connected, so from a Zen perspective, if you are in one place you ARE in another.
If an item is typically in the last place you look, look there first, but be prepared to find it in the first place you should have looked but waited until it was the last place.
