If I interpret the swear symbols right, she’s saying, “haoxih”. Hmm, she’s not even secretly a potty mouth.

The only thing a standardized test does is test you on how well you take a standardized test. Nothing applicable to a real life situation. More and more colleges and universities are no longer requiring students sit for SAT or ACT.

They’re being tested on the Canadian Goods and Services Tax?

…while we go through all the hassle of loading a new comic page without actually seeing anything new? Yep. :p

They want stupid people who can be tricked into voting what they want, but still pass all tests and exams.

If tests were actually built on most-asked questions, question one would be “Is this going to be on the test?”.

When I was a kid, my mom was friends with the prof who taught “giving tests” at our local university. Thus, my sibs and I got volunteered to take a lot of tests. IQ tests, pattern tests, vocabulary tests, math tests, personality tests, multiple-choice this and that, True/False the other, with or without distractions. It was the PITS spending an hour or even two doing this every other weekend or so, for years!

Bottom line though: Boy were we good  at taking tests. AND, since this was before all the crap about verifiability in grade school, we also learned whatever we could from teachers whose job description did NOT involve teaching us to take tests.
