Back when the nation was getting started, people attended school (and paid for schools and educators) because they (or their parents) valued the learning that could be had there. Somewhere along the way, we’ve decided that learning is only part of what schools should do, and the proportion seems to be dropping. And then the idjits decided that a lot of testing would help. Oh my aching head. And heart.
That’s the way in Texas. One year Permian HS got old used computers for the computer classes. The football team coaches were given state of art most expensive computers with Microsoft techs flown in to set them up!
