I thought it should be hard to get sunburned through fur. Then again, Millie can apparently get a tan by turning a slightly darker shade of orange.

A FAQ. Why do cartoon characters like Ozy or Donald Duck who usually do not wear pants wear swim trunks when they go to the beach?

Flashback! In the 1960s there was an active Coppertone billboard next to the freeway in San Jose, Calif.. It had the dog rocking back and forth and pulling the little girl’s bottoms down and up, the latter pivoting at the front. It finally disappeared in the 1970s and replaced with a different ad.

QUOTE: “(In 1959) a series of mechanical billboards were constructed across the United States, whereon the motorized dog and swimsuit bottoms rocked up and down perpetually. Though most of them are long since gone or have stopped moving, one such billboard of the then Coppertone Girl still stands in Miami Beach — dog, pigtails, swimsuit, and all.”

Strangely, the logo now has the girl wearing a second set of trunks under the one being pulled down by the dog. And they thought we wouldn’t notice.

There are comments that spring to mind, but this is a family friendly strip.

Hard to see his butt with all of the fur and tail.
