She’s not wrong, probably why of all the superheroes, I like Spider-Man the best. Never liked Superman or Batman.
Marvel has some other ubernerds as well. Reed Richards for instance.
Batman, Ironman, Black Panther, the Phantom; all rich kids with fancy toys. Superman & Howard the Duck are space aliens. There have been a lot of mutants since Nagasaki.
Many of the Marvel heroes come with hidden messages for kids.
Tony Stark: It’s possible to be both a nerd and cool.
Thor: Being a jock doesn’t mean you have to be a jerk.
Bruce Banner/Hulk: Getting angry never makes things better.
I knew there was a reason I liked Spider-Man so much!
