    Neighbor adopted a ‘Greyhound mix’ he is tons of fun and great buddy to ‘Scamp’ (dog in picture).

    Had a greyhound for a day. Didn’t want to replace my fence, though. He was a goner. Jumped the 6 foot fence and poooooof.

    Yes, Chikuku, you are so right about adopting a greyhound. Some years ago when I lived in Phoenix I learned about a female greyhound that was being “retired” and I discovered that meant killed.

    My mom and I told the owner that we would take her and give her a home. “She’s worthless” he said, “She’s never won enough to pay for her upkeep”. So with that attitude he gave her to us.

    Sheila adopted us! Oh, she was such a good, loving, kind spirited dog. And how she loved to live a normal life in a home, outside of the cage she was used to. She loved to run when we wandered out into the desert for a hike or took our horses to venture even farther. Besides, she bonded with our other dogs as her family.

    Yes! If you get the chance, DO adopt a greyhound. They are a great reward in themselves for your act of kindness.
