I feel for you Anne. I had a spool of string get away from me while I was scuba diving and I almost didn’t make it back. Stuff moved like a snake and seemed determined to wrap me in a spider web of string.
I teach my dogs “Fix your foot!” Doesn’t always work but most of the time they get it. It’s one of the commands that takes longer to train but hey plenty of time, they are with me for all their lives.

Maybe a harness that attaches the leash at the top? It used to work for my cat.

On the up side, the weather is good, the sun is warm, and Annie had a nice trip.

The leash has become bewitched! Maybe the kitties are doing and experiment with fluid dynamics!

Poor Annie looks so resigned to her fate in the last panel. Just want to hug her!

Sophie and Annie weren’t dancing together, though. It takes two to tangle.

Usually that happens to Dad with those two.

Poor Annie and Sophie that wasn’t nice.

If you use a leash that is only 4’ long it really minimizes this problem
