I don’t know why everyone “disses” on Celine Dion. I wouldn’t buy her CD’s but she has a lovely voice, and her songs are pretty good, just not my type of music.
When my wife saw the film in the theatre, the second reel wasn’t cued up to go on time, so the screen went blank white. She thought the alternate ending was that the boat had been nuked.
The movie lasted longer than the actual sinking of the Titanic from iceberg contact to slipping under the waves.
“The song” lasted even longer, at least in subjective time.
“Near, far, wherever you are
“I believe that the song still goes on
“Once more you open the door
“And you’re here in my head
And the song will go on and on and on and on and on….”

Too bad they didn’t show that version in the theatre – it would have gotten a standing ovation!
