Of course it’s over…!

It’s under if you have a cat, otherwise it’s over.

Do you people realize that it’s never ever been an issue until the rise of the Internet?

How you put the toilet paper on the holder depends on whether you have a cat or todler. If you do, it’s under, but if you don’t, it’s over.

Looks like both Harry and Lola are on a roll…

You lose Harry! As I did when I saw the US Patent drawing that shows ’Over".

The patent documentation for toilet paper rolls shows it going OVER.

Over.

Seems like a good reason to breakup though.. living with an under is.. unbearable.

The never ending battle………..doesn’t matter at my place. One of my cats goes after the roll no matter which way it’s placed. Sigh……….

always had it over, until the cat started reeling TP off the roll. Then I put it under, and he figured out how to do it that way, also, so it’s back to over, and hope the cat gets bored with the trick.

Ever notice that the vast majority of the “under” people accept that this is a personal preference and it doesn’t really matter as long as you are happy with how it hangs in your own home, while the vast majority of the “over” people want to push their opinion on everyone else?

“Over” is correct for the following reasons:

(1) It places the paper closer to the user.

(2) When you use your hand to dispense paper from the roll, you roll your hand downward as the paper rolls downward. This is both logical and intuitive. But if you do “under,” you roll up in order to make the paper roll down.

(3) It does appear that way in the original patent documentation.

P.S. If your spouse, significant other or whatever is an “under,” the best way to keep peace regarding this major life issue (second only to how many blades your razor should have) is to simply change it to “over” whenever you see it has been installed incorrectly.
