    Text or email?

Exactly. I doubt that Elliot writes any emails.

E-mail. I don’t do text. And invasion of privacy is not the issue here. Keeping Elliot out of trouble – even prison is.

Go ahead and read them There’s a good chance you won’t understand any of them with all of the initials, slang, and odd short hand Elliot will have used.

Parents are legally and financially responsible for their children, so kids basically have no right to privacy from them. That doesn’t mean that parents should act on all they read.

If you pay for the phone, you get to look at it.

If you don’t have a password on your phone you can’t expect privacy. It’s amazing how many TV shows ignore this idea.
