I once got hit by a car because my brakes didn’t work when they were wet (a fact I did not know beforehand.) Got sent flying at least 20 feet, fortunately I landed on my backpack which absorbed the impact so I only had a few small bruises to show for it.
You know, a really interesting exercise in visual communication is to hand someone a sheet of paper and a pencil and ask them to draw what a bicycle frame looks like.

“I think I see the problem. You have brake levers but no brakes or cables. They’re kinda necessary.”

No, I called to schedule a brake installation. And I’ll need a new front wheel.

doing 90 miles an hour
when the chain on her bicycle broke.
She slipped in the grass
the sprocket up her a**
and her b**bs played Dixie on the spokes.

Go back to the old Single Speed bikes. They always had working brakes!

Traffic permitting, you can always try curving back until you’re pointing uphill again.

Without breaks, a rider might end up breaking something.

Who but our messed-up Monty would ride a brake-deficient bike on a downhill route to the Bike Shop?! Sheesh!
