An IOU for what back then? (And how could Andy forget his school’s time capsule?)

No wonder Andy doesn’t remember what was in the time capsule. How convenient!

I like the story of the man who borrowed money from his friend, just before his friend died, throwing a cheque into his grave…

I went to a time capsule opening once. After 100 years the only items that survived relatively intact were some (U.S.) currency notes and coins and newspaper clippings. Letters and hand written notes had disintegrated. Interestingly, some guy was videotaping the event with a VHS camera and intended to leave the tape in the replacement capsule. He didn’t realize that the oxide on the tape would have fallen off after another 100 years, and a working player would be hard to find.

And it still hasn’t been paid, I’m sure.

So not much has changed.

Andy went to school? Was he sober? Did he meet his wife there? Inquiring minds want to know!

It was probably before they “decimalized” the currency, so good luck collecting that “sixpence” :-P
