If my dog weren’t quite so big, this is exactly what would happen at our house. Our cat suddenly gets spooked like this often. Last night it was a crackling log in the fireplace.
When kittens are first out of the box and don’t really know how to walk yet, they just bounce between front and hind feet; they’ll get so intent on their play stalking that you can sneak up behind them. Just touch them and they’ll take off like that!
And we have lift-off … Wally has just launched his first cat into low orbit of the earth. We should hear the cat’s re-entry sonic booms early tomorrow morning. Edwards AFB … are you copying this?

I have a friend who made a cat condo in her living room completely out of used boxes. I gave her my box from my tower space heater for it.
