Good Morning and Happy Friday locos!! Anyone close to solving the Marg mystery?

(It’s too bad Mr. Schultz doesn’t know how much Peanuts is still influencing other cartoonists.)

I am doing fine Dry. Have the flood waters receded?

Yes they have cleo around my area, a couple of the bigger rivers are still threatening to flood. I live a block away from the creek here, and I can hear the water rushing. There are some rural roads flooded because they announced the busses would not be runnng on those roads and the kids in those areas would not have school. Bet the other kids that had to go were thrilled with that! :-D

Ah, it wasn’t an event. Just got rousted from a sound sleep at 4:30 AM. Looks like Santa Cruz had some excitement.

Better to be rousted by a knock on the door as opposed to waves crashing on top of you and carting you inland to deposit you against the side of some large rock.

Santa Cruz got hit after the Chilean quake as well.

So you had to get up a half hour early, so what? Like cleo said!

What happened here? I don’t understand JFri’s post. Did something happen?

Hola Shika! After reading your comment I went back to change my response to car. I knew it was a car, so I don’t know what compelled me to write differently.

Shika, I was on the Oregon coast when the tsunami hit shore, but it wasn’t much of an event here.

So now the beach is back to normal, eh? Well not normal, you’re there! :-D

JFri is always at the beach, I guess that makes him a Beach Boy!

I just did battle with one of the automated grocery store checkouts. Went through it to save time! After I scanned the item, the machine says, “place your item in the bag” over and over again. Then I would scan something and nothing would happen. I came so close to just taking everything and walking out the door, but I’m too honest to do that, so instead I ended up telling the machine to , well, never mind! LOL! Spent a half hour where it should have taken 5 mins. Then a check out girl came over and she couldn’t fix it. When I was done, they put a closed sign on the d@mn thing!

Good job of wrecking the check out lane Dry! Here in civilized country they have an employee who stays close by in case of people like you!

Those lines can be quick, but are difficult if you have items that don’t have a bar code or certain fruits and veggies without stickers.

There was a girl there, she couldn’t do anything with it, called the service desk for a key, then the 2 of them couldn’t do anything either. They finally checked me out at that booth of theirs. And everything had a bar code, btw! :-P

Once again Dry is flummoxed by the modern world.

Re: The Beach Boy remark I meant to comment on earlier, you do know that was JFri’s dream, to be a Beach Boy, only problem is, when he sings, it sounds like a Tom cat in heat so they turned him down!

Dry couldn’t carry a tune in 5 million gallon bucket! Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

Dry, if you don’t know HOW to use the self check out machines, it is morally wrong to call for help after you have destroyed it!!

Is anyone else having trouble with their computer freezing today? Even my mouse is freezing on me, and it’s not that cold in here.

Computers! Bah! They drive me crazy.

LOL Dry I’ll bet you don’t want to use those automated machines any more. I had an instant teller eat my card and it wouldn’t give it back. I had to get an employee to go back and retreive it manually.

And why does the screen keep dropping on me?

Hola Shika! I have you beat. I had my card snatched by an automatic teller in Mexico and had to wait for the bank to open, plus wait for at least an hour in line (all banks in Mexico have long lines) before I got it back. I never normally would have used the machine, but I dislocated my shoulder and the Doctor said she would give me a better rate if I paid her in cash.

My computer was slow here at gocomics this morning, but it is faster now, probably because fewer people are visiting the comics at this time of day.

cleo the doctor said they would give you a better rate if you paid in cash? And your radar didn’t GO UP?

She said that after I had my arm put back into it’s socket.

She also came to the condo to look at my arm (JFri knows this story) and told me that she was going to take care of it there until she noted my advanced age*. So she drove me to her clinic, with me nearly naked (go figure) and she had to pay my taxi fair back to where I was staying. She then came to my room the next day for payment. A little different and more personal then the good old USA.

Movie time.

And where does cleo get off saying “movie time”? I’ll drag that whole story out of him come HE!! or HIGH WATER!

I spent all afternoon on the beach. No tsunamis. I figured out that I saw the ocean pull back 30 or 40 feet while I was watching through the binoculars.

Tsunamis draw water back quite a ways from what they normally go out before they come surging inland.

I thought that was what it meant, but wasn’t sure. Thanks cleo. And of course he took pictures! SNERK!

JFri is probably in his trailer, his feet on his desk, a Booker’s in one hand and his mouse in the other, regaling his contacts with his morning adventure (at least that’s what I would be doing).

Yes, he did have an adventure! Even if he had to get up a half hour ahead of his regluar wakey wakey time! SNERK!!!

I think I better be hitting those feather pillows of mine! Good night! Give me 10 minutes, and I’ll be ready for my tuck! :-D
