No, cats are not lazy. They are nocturnal hunters, or were before being domesticated. They rest, and sleep, during the day so they can be active after dark.
Which is why our cat couldn’t sleep with us at night. He would always wake us up about 2 AM to go outside. He couldn’t take it anymore. Therefore, house cat by day and outside nocturnal mischief maker at night. That kept the peace in our home!
