My wife always does that while we’re watching TV. Generally when the dialog is important. And another thing – I have a Decibel meter, and our TV’s sound output is around 65dB. My wife speaks at 60 dB. Why does she drown out the TV? :)
One morning, Hubby had been up a while, and was straightening his desk, when I wandered into the den with a cup of coffee. While I tried to read the comics, he began to hand me things to put in the recycling bin.
“Take this.’
“Here, put this in the bin.”
And more of the same. Finally, I silently picked up the bin and sat it between us. “Were you waiting for me to show up so you could move stuff?”
Or she can be working in the kitchen or doing laundry and hear, “come see this!” regarding a cartoon or news item on the computer. And it can’t wait until she’s finished doing what she is doing because he will have moved on to something else.

Or when he can clearly see I am doing something on the computer because his recliner is 10 feet away, directly in line with him. Love him anyway. lol

Wife seems to know when my favorite songs come on the radio because that’s when she starts talking.

On the rare occasions a plugged husband tries to communicate with his wife, she just ignores him, apparently.
