He asks, "Today is Thursday, isn't it?"<BR><BR> She stands up and watches as he peers at the calendar. He says, "According to the calendar, this is the day that Balboa discovered the Pacific Ocean..."<BR><BR> He turns to her and says, "And Friday is the day that Daniel Boone died." She asks, "How about Saturday?"<BR><BR> He looks and replies, "'Use Whito shoe polish.'"<BR><BR>

Saturday that year, September 27, was the birthday of Lothar von Richthofen, the younger brother of Manfred von Richthofen (yes, the Red Baron!). He was also a formidable fighter ace in his own right, with 40 victories to his name.
