Getting our old house ready to sell, so I have two sets of keys. Both houses have locksets from the same manufacturer, so occasionally I try the wrong key.
There are the keys you carry and then there are the keys that end up in a drawer. Years ago when I was cleaning out the family house I came across a box of things that would have been my grandmothers—or great grandmothers. There were a few jewelry items, white gloves, and several hat pins all neatly placed in little boxes. The smallest box held a tiny key with a folded up piece of paper. I carefully unwrapped the paper (it was fragile) to discover the following note: “A key to something.” . . .
Back in the early days of Jazz Fest, (a musical event that happens every year here in New Orleans, exception of this year, during the spring), you could tell how important a person was at the event by the number of keys they had, if they had only one or two, they was a big boss, while supervisors usually had string a keys because they were not supposed to have immediate access to everything.

Back when I worked in maintenance, we carried a single master key that opened all the doors in the factory.

The more keys, the lower on the totem pole, and vice versa.

Oh, man! If importance is based on the number of keys carried, then I’m the CEO!

Try doing security. I think the record I saw was 96. Every time they changed a lock they got a new key.

The next time we stand on the heaps of trash in our junkyard with astronaut suits on, now we know to rake it from the bottom.

To sort trash we are to rake from the bottom. We have been saying that for how many years??
