Aww! The Purple Hippo of Happiness being distressed makes me kinda sad.

I get O’Malley’s thinking here…but at the same time, running and hiding from the problem isn’t going to make it go away, and don’t think the “bad man” won’t still try and find what he wants without you, because if it came right down to it, I’m sure he would if he had to, and he might still succeed.

Besides…there’s always other witches he could try to “employ.”

It’s sad when a cute little whatever that is is smarter and braver than a human.

Panel Two is priceless! If the circumstances were not so dire, O’Malley would be a pretty good father. I mean, just look at how he’s taking care of Snarfy (that’s what I’m calling him, okay?).

Aw! The Pink Hippo of Happiness has heart-shaped foot pads!

Raised a wanderer, O’Malley is feeling the pressures of finally having a home. Hopefully, this walkabout will remind him that he now has a family of sorts that he left behind, and he’s stronger with them than without.

Or at least it might be less exhausting than watching over his new friend here.

This reads as if O’Malley’s having an internal dialog and the hippo is a surrogate for his sense of duty.

I like the heart-shaped pads on the hippo’s feet.

Now that’s quite a strange looking talking pink pokémon creature.
