It’s not a phobia when it is real. There are too many tough guys out there saying precautions = phobia which is why there are so many still gathering and ignoring the warnings. Yes, you may be tougher than CoViD-19, but do you really want to be responsible for spreading it to some one who it kills?
I get the joke, I see the mic, but there are folks out there spreading this kind of tough talk. Understand the virus, use the recommended precautions, then there is nothing to fear (no phobia).
What struck me as interesting is that the news and sports reporters ( as well as everyone else – including politicians ) here in Ecuador are all wearing protective face masks – even when broadcasting … and the portable mics are being prophylactically covered for on the street interviews.
Many are broadcasting via internet link-up from their homes, rather than go to the studios.

Broadcasters have been using their own foam “pop” filters for years. The face mask is over kill.

On the plus side. There’s never been a better time to be agoraphobic.
