Let me guess: the 1986 remake of the 1958 original with Jeff Goldblum as the man who became the humanoid insect. I have vague memories of it on TV once (either in the late 1990s or early 2000s).
I like that movie, yet at the same time I never want to watch it again. It’s just so grim, and the makeup and special effects are extremely disturbing. Body horror makes me feel so uncomfortable. I recently saw “Color Out of Space.” Never again!
I loved my Diaper Genie. Each diaper was wrapped in its own little plastic bag, and the Genie only gets emptied when it’s completely filled. No smell, no mess. Best invention ever.
I watched the original with my Mom when I was a child. We were both laughing at how ridiculous it was. My Mom took pleasure in mentioning how scary the kids thought that movie was when she was a kid!
Remember the movie “The Fly”? I’m talking about the old original (1958). Remember how the buzzing sound happened whenever The Fly was coming? There was buzzing…but the monster never flew!
Someone once said “women are the weaker sex” …must have been a man. Women have seen and smelled and cleaned up more messes than a man could ever stand…and the men are usually the ones who make those messes.
This seems to be a new strip. It is certainly not the Sunday strip published immediately after yesterday’s “up by noon” in 1991. Nor is it the one from the following week which was for Mother’s Day.
Great story about the original in the ca 1970 Scholastic book Great Horror Movies: Leading lady Patricia Owens went into the project with an extreme insect phobia. Afterwards, whenever she saw a scary-looking bug, she’d think to herself, “Oh, that’s just that nice Al Hedison in a new role.”

No contest. I don’t recall “The Fly” ever making my nose hairs curl. ;-)

In all fairness, I’d also much rather watch Jeff Goldblum progressively fall apart than empty a diaper pail…

I prefer the original Fly movie.

Jeff Goldblum grossed me out too. I’ll take Vincent Price.

Hey, that’s so true. I mean really, you don’t have to smell TV.

At least that annoying relative with the penis-shaped hairdo is gone. Nothing could be as gross at that.
