IIRC, Bea did some artwork of some of the characters gender-swapped, and Sam was one of them. This certainly does look like the female version of him!

Well, my theories are: (1) She’s a half-sister of Sam’s from one of his parents’ previous dalliances; (2) She’s a full sister, but hasn’t been brought up so far in the strip; or (3) She’s a cousin of Sam’s, like Roy and Sedine are cousins (some cousins can look so much alike that they pass for twins or siblings; I know of some in other families, and have some of my own).

Well, that certainly wasn’t expected.
