These panel discussions on art wear me out!"<BR><BR>

I don’t know about Ratner and Olsen, but Letness was, “George Letness worked with and befriended a young Charles Schulz and for 50 years was one of the best-known commercial illustrators in the Twin Cities, helping to create such iconic images as Count Chocula and Franken Berry.”

The Ratner, Olsen, and Letness mentioned refer to Dave Ratner, Paul Olsen and George Letness, artist friends of Charles Schulz, and the strip was a private joke between them. The Marc Ratner who runs that blog appears to be the son of Dave Ratner.

For a few years, Schulz didn’t mind challenging his audience with a joke that they might have had to do a little research to understand. Linus getting worked up over a panel discussion as if it were a ball game is hilarious.
