Yup Red dogs don’t forget the good things we give them and they like. However an orange was never something any of our dogs like. Now a piece of apple, banana, blueberries and cantaloupe are OK!However all our dogs loved chicken, steak and hamburgers. If we had it they got some.
my dog doesn’t get table scraps. a lesson well learned from my sister-in-law who had 4 dogs and when we would sit down to eat at her house the dogs would sit around us begging, waiting for a handout.
Heck of a coincidence. 2 days ago, out walking my dog and he came across some orange peels on the side of the road. Picked them up and I had to yell “Drop it!” He complied so I guess I’ll never know if Yellow Labs like oranges…
My golden’s tastes changed over the years. She enjoyed pears, particularly the expensive ones we’d get for Christmas, for the first few years of her life. The apples from our trees were a treat, and she’d point cucumbers from my trellised vines for me when I’d pick them. The one I’d give her would be eaten like corn on the cob. Just the outside bits. Sadly, the vet ruined peanut butter for her by not popping a particularly disgusting antibiotic down her throat correctly, and she tasted it. When I tried to disguise the pill with peanut butter, she associated PB with the taste of the pill and refused it for the rest of her life. I used liver pudding after that which had a stronger smell that masks the pill aroma.

An orange is very different from an orange chicken, Rover!

We fed our dogs veggies scraps (but never onions, garlic, leeks, etc.). They loved tomatoes, celery, bell peppers, lettuce, carrots, etc.

Cats HATE oranges. The peels are recommended to keep cats from pooping in flower bed. However, that doesn’t mean that dogs would.
