Through a public-private partnership, the Club is building 24 courts, 8 of which will be covered, at Hollyland Park, Holly Hill. The Club will operate the not-for-profit facility called Pictona (a contraction of PICkleball + DayTONA). Pictona at Holly Hill will have outstanding amenities with a restaurant called the “Kitchen,” and a clubhouse featuring locker rooms, a player shop, lounge, game room for table tennis and other recreational games, and where we will host a variety of social events. Pictona will offer instructional programs for all age groups as well as recreational and competitive play, including tournaments. The facility will be completed in summer 2020. Member registration will open in April 2020 for everyone wanting to be a part of the exciting growth of pickleball in the area!
The golf course at my geezer village is the only amenity still open. The players are now in individual carts, then they congregate to discuss the day’s outing. Kind of defeats the purpose of individual carts.
