So Erin’s off to London. She has a new job at a popular science magazine called New Scientist. We’ll see her in Bad Machinery again, but not for a long time. She’ll be back in Tackleford off and on for the New Bobbins storylines that run parallel to later Bad Machinery cases, but there’s a sort of one-way barrier there — Bad Machinery characters show up in the Bobbins stories, but the Bobbins characters don’t cross over to Bad Machinery. Erin stays on the Bobbins side of that fence from here on out, until very near the end.
Good thing Jack took it well. The alternative was to see him leave for London determined to find Erin. I’m so sorry for Mike, now he’s alone again and still traumatised for the possession.
