Oh yeah, so, when these strips were originally posted, they were running Monday–Thursday. Fridays sometimes had filler pages, or out-of-continuity strips, or convention announcements, or the like.
This was a Monday page. The previous page was a Thursday page. Between these two, there was posted the first “Bobbins Now” strip, featuring Shelley and Amy at a flea market. In a possible spoiler for this case, Amy was her normal self, complete with baby bump.
The “Bobbins Now” strips continued to run intermittently on Fridays for the rest of this case, following some of the older Bobbins and Scary Go Round characters that had faded into the background when the focus shifted to Bad Machinery and the mystery kids — Ryan and Amy, Shelley, Tim, Erin and The Boy, and sometimes the mystery kids doing stuff unrelated to whatever case they were working at the time. When “Forked Road” was over, “Bobbins Now” went full-time to fill the gap between this case and “The Case of the Modern Men”, then faded back into intermittent filler strips while “Modern Men” ran.
Eventually New Bobbins got a couple of storylines of its own, which were all-hands-on-deck affairs involving Bobbins, Scary Go Round, and Bad Machinery characters: “Into the Woods”, which comes after “Modern Men”, and “Hard Yards”, which is long… it runs parallel to “Space Is The Place”, “The Case of the Missing Piece”, “The Big Hiatus”, and “The Case of the Severed Alliance”, and ends after “Severed Alliance”.
