Mimi wasn’t a new character in “Modern Men”. Her first appearance was in the Scary-Go-Round story “The Bell”, in which Eustace “Le Garçon” Boyce went to France as exchange partner to Mimi’s older sister, Elodie — who is the French assistante we met back in “The Case of the Simple Soul”. The upper row here shows what Mimi actually looked like back then.

Tangentially, “The Case of the Good Boy” was a lot more tense when it was originally posted, because there was a wendigo — who was not nearly as good a boy as Archibald — featured in “The Bell”, so those of us who were SGR readers knew what he was long before it was actually revealed in the story, and had ample reason to be concerned about that.

I have 3 nipples. #3 is vestigial and small. My mom’s a nurse. When I was in junior high I asked her what it was and she told me. “Oh, that’s a vestigial nipple.” and explained that many people had them. She was great on the sciency stuff.

Camille definitely went too far with hate. But Mimi was really a bad friend in spreading her secret around. Maybe now I can understand Camille more.
