I don’t recall waistcoats and pocket watches as ever being considered “modern”. Quite the contrary, actually. They are the mark of an Edwardian!
I’m pretty sure that the only difference between Mr Knott now and Mr Knott when mods came around the first time is that back then he had both eyes.
There’s one in every faculty.
Wouldn’t it be great if one of teachers snapped his eyepatch and told him to sod off.
How nuts IS your man?
That might be a question for Mrs. Knott (if there is one).
Does that waistcoat have the Union Jack printed on it?
I do feel for Mr. Knott, though. I mean, I see an awful lot of popinjays who need upbraiding.
Are popinjays anything like bluejays? I’ve got one screeching it’s head off in the tree outside my window right now.
I remember school dress codes that were stricter than today’s. At my high school boys were sent home for not wearing a belt or wearing a sweat shirt. Girls had to wear skirts. Of course minimum length was specified.
Mr. Knott seems in quite good spirits today. That poor girl will be traumatized for months.
