I can actually relate to Linton a little here, having been in that sort of situation where someone’s unpacking their emotions to me and having no idea how I should respond or even IF I should respond.
Fortunately, sometimes all such people want really is just someone willing to listen.
Love has definitely confused Linton, in normal situations he would immediately understand that Colm only left her because he’s about to move. I understand Linton’s situation, but at least wait until her ex moves out!

Panel 3 here got redrawn to make Claire less on top of Linton. There was also shading added, most noticeably on Colm’s face.
