    Well, Amy, unfortunately, isn’t wrong. As I recall, the REAL reason Darren came to visit Shauna at the shop was an excuse so to scope the place out so to rob it later, as we see here.

    But as her teacher hubbie has aptly pointed out, Darren is less “bad” because of deliberate choice, but more because the world fell short giving him the tools or the motive to try and be better than this. So he doesn’t.

    Personally, what I think is the REAL deciding factor on whether or not someone constitutes as “bad” is not necessarily the bad actions they take, but whether or not they acknowledge they were wrong to do it and seek to make amends later, or to continue to insist their actions were right for them, despite their moral dubiousness, and purposely refuse to divert from the path that puts them on.

    What does Darren owe 30k? Due tomorrow? Whatever it is, he is gonna need a miracle haul with an instant turnover and he will still, no doubt, be short. Desperation fosters bad choices.
