People are FAR too addicted to their smart phone. No one actually makes a phone call anymore. They just walk right into traffic looking down texting, totally oblivious to that fact that a vehicle almost killed them. In my city there was a new traffic light installed…TEN FEET away from another one because students did not bother going to the corner where the light is, they just walked into traffic looking at their cell phone (they used to call then that), ignoring the vehicle about to hit them.
SURVIVAL TIP If you ever get lost in a remote location and can’t call anyone, try to send a text message. The connection required for texts are a lot lower than for phone calls.

Lousy reception but I still make sure my phone is fully charged as it makes a great camera.
