Lucy and Linus stand on the ice. Linus says, "I'm taking up a collection to send Snoopy to France to skate in the olympics . . ."<BR><BR> Snoopy ice skates past Lucy and Linus. Linus holds a jar and says, "I don't suppose you'd care to contribute?"<BR><BR> Lucy drops a coin in the jar and says, "Sure, I would, but why stop there? Here's a quarter . . . Send him to the moon!!"<BR><BR> Snoopy smiles at Lucy and thinks, "Silly girl . . . She should know they don't have figure skating on the moon." Lucy says, "Stupid beagle!!"<BR><BR>

Lucy’s point was that Snoopy could go to not just France, but to the MOON, for all she cared; it always was plain to see, that she did not like Snoopy. Like Charlie Brown and Linus, Snoopy, too, was another one whom Lucy would frequently trample on.

And then, just a little over a year later, Snoopy did go to the moon.
