The watchword for Memorial Day is “Lest we forget”. So … lest we forget …

     World Records in Ball Dropping

2001-08-06 • Presidential Daily Brief: “Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US” • Bush did nothing.

    2001-09-11 • 5 weeks after PDB • 9/11 attacks • Death toll: 2,977

2020-01-07 • Presidential Daily Brief: “Analysts concluded [coronavirus] could be a cataclysmic event.” • Trump did nothing.

    2020-03-11 • WHO declared a global pandemic.

2020-04-15 • Trump suspended US funding of WHO.

    2020-05-24 • 19 weeks after PDB • US death toll: 98,683

    For comparison • Korean War (33,686) + Vietnam War (58,220): 91,906

Imagine Trump as president during a real war.

“And I asked Adolph about those holocaust accusations and he denied it and why would he lie about that? And I’m not sending any troops to Europe, you know they did not attack us and England can handle it themselves and I’m doing an incredible job keeping our troops safe. Some people want us to invade, can you believe it? No, I’m doing a tremendous, incredible job and the fake media refuses to give me any credit. And I told MacArthur to pull troops out of The Phillippines because let them fight their own wars. I was on the phone with their president and he wanted me to send more troops there, but I told him we didn’t need anything from his islands. He was begging, can you imagine? A president of a country begging. Disgraceful.

If they had made themselves strong like I did, they wouldn’t need to be begging, that I can tell you."

Some typical Trumpisms: . . . . Google: Trump admin won’t require nursing homes to count COVID-19 deaths that occurred before May 6 . . . . . . Google: Trump officials deflect blame for US death toll, escalate reopening push . . . . . . Honorable mention: . . . . Google: ‘Here is the check:’ Trump’s press secretary shows off president’s check, bank info and all

Sometimes, for just a moment or so, I despair. But then I remember, most of the world goes about their day to day lives without even caring what goes on the the White House, no matter who is entrenched there.

Trump Gate = 100,000 deaths, 15% unemployment, the country is shut down, all due to the lack of a Federal Testing Program.

Speaking of “the little boy in him” (i.e., pretty much all of him), wasn’t it special when Little Donny learned what a cotton swab is? He even did a show and tell at his daily news conference. “This one is a swab, but this one is a Q-Tip.” Nobody had the heart to tell the little fella that “Q-Tip” is just a brand name for swabs.

Taking good ol’ Rollie’s tweets in order: Trump was briefed in DECEMBER, as we now know, about the potential threat to our national security (in this case the virus, not Putin’s Poodle himself). Birx’s next thought would appear to be her first—she ain’t no bleedin’ Fauci! Li’l Donnie, the “war-time president” is scared to death of Maxine Waters AND those mean ol’ girl reporters! At least ONE Republican governor was so damn baked-in stupid that he said we’d only just now learned that COVID can be spread even by asymptomatic people—which all intelligent people had known at that point for a couple months. As far as “incredible” is concerned, why not “fantastic”? But of course, Trump would need to dump Melania for a new trophy gold-digger to get “The Fantastic Four”………The “special marveling tone” Trump uses when he learns something new (through the blood, sweat, and tears of Stephen Miller or Ivanka—I never could tell them apart!) was on full display when he did one of his insane campaign commercials thinly disguised as a news conference: “You know the term cabin fever? Have you heard the term before?” Well, yes, those of us who have outgrown our CRIBS have heard the term! Not the little boy in him, just the overly-privileged and underly-rational toddler in him. And as far as Trump acting prophylactically: he claims (note the term well!) to be taking a MALARIA medication even though he doesn’t have COVID and never met COVID—though COVID might well have actually brought him a cup of covfefe a time or two……..

Sadly, most of these are beyond what my eyes can cope with (and I WISH that a larger and less spidery font was used for accessibility), but I did see the comment about his wife and freezer. ANYONE following WHO announcements knew on Jan 2nd this year, ditto ANYONE reading Promed of the ISID (which is where and when I first read of this before it was known for sure to be a coronavirus but was looking SARS-like). Oh, and WHO has U.S. representatives who immediately send all reports to U.S. administrative offices.
