Yep, NPR, PBS and the like are tiny (unconstitutional) budget items. 42% are the unconstitutional entitlement programs - Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. It Republicans were serious about averting fiscal disaster they would go after those first. But that is extremely difficult to do politically - lots of people depending on those programs now - so they snipe at the little irritants. It is still not clear now much the new Health Care entitlement will cost.

Since health care is a right, and that means the government has to pay for it, were do you sign up for the free guns and ammo? :-)

Without a serious cut (@ 50%) in ‘defense’, the budget will never be balanced. NPR and the arts account for >1/2 a cent on the tax dollar. Cut it all you want, but don’t say your going to balance the budget if you do.

Republicans want to zero out tsunami warning systems and volcano monitoring. Just ask Alfred E. Jindal how that will turn out.

To veer away from the political, I gotta mention that from a certain angle, Earl’s hair could be mistaken for beret :-) And I LOVE it.

Stuart Guthman: If you want free guns and ammo, you sign up with the Army, Marines, or your state National Guard.
