    My maternal side has been traced back to colonial days (I have an ancestor who fought in the Revolution and married the sister of a founding father).

    (I don’t fancy any of us had ancestors dropped on Earth by aliens post-1776.)

    ^If we did, we probably don’t know it.

    Some of the folks I used to work with at JPL were likely, trying to find a way home…

    It’s a good thing the locals didn’t have ‘Illegal Alien’ laws at the time, they’d have sent the whole bunch back to Europe.

    The Europeans, however, weren’t exactly sneaking across the border. By the time the Indians tried to enforce their own “illegal alien” laws, it was a bit too late.

    Pardon me…I should have said American colonial days. My father’s family didn’t get here until the 1890s.
