It boggles the mind…

Now there’s one big out of body experience!

Only Calvin was capable of making his “good” side so mad. My idol!

I’m not to sure about this - in some ways - it might not be a bad idea for Calvin to get a little “come-uppance” from his good side .

I think Calvin will win this fight. :-)

HEHE In this corner a good Calvin, who loves helping his mom, and giving girls valentines and goes to bed on time. In the other corner, the naughty Calvin we all know and love who torments and tortures everyone he comes in contact with….. Hmmmmmm? Who will win, Calvin of course!

People are a mix of good and evil and so does Calvin!

I think Calvin will lose this fight, even if he wins. :-) Hobbes is not a ‘pouncing tiger’ this time! Isn’t Hobbes existential, too? Will the real Calvin please stand? It definitely does “boggle” the mind.

Every once in awhile, I like to take a step back from this comic and try to figure out what’s really going on (assuming that this is all Calvin’s imagination and he did not really make a good clone of himself). Is he playing both the good him and the bad him? Did he go to Susie’s house twice? Is he now rolling around by himself yelling both sides of the conversation?

Wow. You really know your “evil self” well, Calvin. If think you should pound him until he’s a good few miles displaced from the center of the universe.

Why is good Calvin fighting with the original Calvin? he is supposed to be GOOD…..what an influence…….Calvin can make anyone go crazy…….

Watterson is proof that genius and insanity are almost the same thing.

That is very existential.

This is Calvin arguing with himself. Both Calvins are the real Calvin. He went to Susie’s house twice. He went to school as Good Calvin and talked about it with Hobbes before and after school. It reminds me very much of that award winning scene in The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers with Smeagol arguing with Gollum. And it is the genius of Bill Watterson that makes it happen.

Can’t we just settle this with a game of Calvin Ball?

But that wasn’t ‘Evil’ and ‘Good’ Kirk, or even ‘Evil’ and ‘ordinary’ Kirk; it was ‘Ruthless’ vs. ‘Wimpy’ Kirk, who could no longer make a command decision.

Great strip! It’s not everyday that a comic strip can elicit so many comments!

If anyone had noticed the banner across the top when this story line started, you would have known right away what was going on!

Does the fight mean the good Calvin is history?

A metaphor for all our inner battles

I have these battles with myself quite regularly and usually the good side wins, but every once and awhile my evil side will be victorious and that is when I have the most fun.

So much greatness is gonna come from this.

In reality the banner at the top depicts the first duplicator story (found in “Scientific Progress goes Boink!), where there was no ethicator present. Still not a bad clue, though.

My money’s on Calvin…either one.

A little confusing . I feel confident that Hobbes will tell us the outcome as he is the only creditable witness.

The tiger’s comment made me laugh. This experience of Calvin’s reminds me of a similar arguement that Paul makes about himself in the latter parts of Romans, chapter seven….existential indeed….

An interesting statistic - As of this moment, 5:25 PM CDT, in today’s GoComics Dick Tracy has 21 comments and Calvin & Hobbes has 46 (not counting this one).
