Lovely
OK Wallace, now sing the mating call of the seagull.
Just another day in paradise. How can birds be blue here?
Ah yes, the rare Rhode Island Gold And White Starling (sturnus aureum albus) known for its ability to match a young boy’s whistling.
Fantastic! The art work is beautiful and so is the story. Thank you!
This looks to me like the perfect Sunday morning.
Enjoy, Wallace.
Fantastic artwork.
I also started birding young, Wallace, and it’s never grown old!
Love Wallace’s adventures through the woods and the art here, too!
In terms of our affection for the characters, this strip has become the Peanuts and the Calvin & Hobbes of our days.
Will can do a lot with a few lines…like that bird.
There’s an owl that wakes me up almost every night, and I don’t mind. I love to lie there and listen to it hooting.
Wallace, it’s shoe tossing time!
This is SO me… A catbird showed up in my garden a few days ago and we had a similar conversation. LOVE me my birds!!!
Mrs. Bakers always looks at me weird when I whistle back to the birds.
I’ve actually tried this before. My efforts are hindered partly by the fact that I’m not really that great a whistler…but every now and then I do get a bird call responding back.
And do we all know why birds sing?
This makes me very happy. Perfect Sunday comic.
Did anyone else think they saw a giant head (ala Mt. Rushmore) in the right side of the 2nd panel?
AHHH, feathery friend finally found!!
It would be fun to live in Wallaces world.
Nice.
Great speech bubble stuff in panel #2.
wallace the brave is my favorite toon!
Wonderful Sunday comix.
love this!!
Notice how Wallace tries different bird calls. This strip, I think, follows in the Calvin & Hobbes tradition of saying a lot without words.
Love this one, 10/10
I wonder what Wallace carries in his backpack on adventures to the forest like these?
