    Try croque monsieur.

    Or toast hawaii.

Or a crossover – croque monsieur with a slice of canned pineapple between ham and cheese. That’s what I grew up with.

My mom always makes a Slovak potato casserole called kugeli with her Easter ham. It’s yummy. It’s similar to potato pancakes. Top it with sour cream or plain Greek yogurt for a healthier option. Some applesauce on the side with apple pie spice.

These days, getting to go to the store is the most excitement we get.

Back to the Mac and Cheese from the other day. Make your version and add some of the ham. Or you could make Scalloped potatoes with thin slices of onion, the ham, and cheese if you’d like. Or there’s Split Pea Soup with the ham (I prefer using Ham Hocks) but either way Yumm……

Steamed veggies, wrapped in ham, with cheese on top and slightly baked – I’d suggest sauce bechamel with cheese, but that, Dan wouldn’t like – again.

    Cereal for him!

Cordon bleu. You don’t have to use veal; turkey and pork work, too.

Or if crumbing the meat thoroughly is too much effort: try not quite saltimbocca, but delicious nonetheless. Dried sage works, too.

    Pizza-topping.

Hamburgers carefully mixed with tiny cubes of ham.

Meatloaf, dito. Or strips, put in lenghtwise.

    Sausages, wrapped in ham…

Or you could just use it for breakfast and have a bunch of ham and eggs.

Cooked ham freezes. Slice for sandwiches and package for the freezer. Pull out the night before and make lunches.
