Some folks don’t care what others think right from the start. :)

Absolutely true! One of the perks of age.

Over the years I became more selective as to who’s opinions of me mattered. The list has become very short.

never allow anyone to rent space in your brain, remember everyone is entitled to YOUR opinion…[gee, maybe that’s why I’m writing this ;-) ]

The answer is yes. Also, he’s not asking Grandma because he cares. He’s asking her because he doesn’t want to hear about it for days on end later. Old gentlemen aren’t asking wives for permission. They’re asking for peace.

He has to ask her what his opinion is.

I stopped caring what people thought of me in high school. I figured as long as I was their object of gossip, they were leaving some other poor soul alone.

I remember when I was in school, I overheard some of the “popular” kids making some unkind remarks about me. They knew I heard, so it ticked them off big time when I payed absolutely NO attention to what they said. I guess they expected me to crawl off into a corner and wither away, I guess.

I like the idea " You would care a lot less what people think about you if you knew how seldom they actually do."

If your life experience gives you confidence then yes. If not… you’re going to suffer all your life. Stay away from guns with big magazines.

I miss the walks I used to have with my grandson when he was younger. Now that he is a man, we hardly talk that much.
