I’ve never heard Snoopy in the voice of Rose Nylund before.
What would Johan Strauß II think?
Who knew Schulz would make an opera joke.
I’m too young and uncultured to understand this so I had to look it up
That will never fly.
So she had to become Batwoman.
That name? Nuh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh…No way!
Toast her with champagne, even though she’s got bats in her belfry!
At least your heroine isn’t waltzing off into the sunset with an aria.
Die Fledermaus…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_Fledermaus
Even though this isn’t a pun, I expected the final panel to be Rat hitting Schultz over the head with a bat.
And that’s “DEE” story!
What’s opera, doc?
Is this Dee Fledermous an old flame of Snoopy’s?
What a batty name…
I see Snoopy has gotten into writing novels about the Mini Skirt gang which includes Molly Toff, Anna Phelatic, Barb Wire and Dot Matrix.
He should have named her Deirdre
Of course, Snoopy would be cultured enough to know how bad that name is!
Oh, how funny, Ah, ha, ha! You amuse me, Ah, ha, ha,…!
Sometimes even Snoopy doesn’t like his own writing.
It’s sad when one remembers this one when it originally appeared many years back.
Ha — flying mouse — the bat
It didn’t hum.
Well, fiddle dee dee!
In French a bat is “chauve-souris,” which means “bald mouse,” not “flying mouse.”
Is she related to Taofledermaus?
I know this strip is much older but for a minute I thought I was reading Pearls Before Swine.
Her name was Magill, and she called herself LilBut everyone knew her as Nancy. Rocky Raccoon 1968, The Beatles
She resented it when folks called her ," an old bat."
I was tempted to hit the “like” button to show that I get what appears to be some sort of cultural pun, but I don’t…so I won’t…
Was this supposed to be the start of a new opera?
