    Close, Sandflea. It was the other two guys with first names as the band name… it was Peter and Gordon. Peter’s sister was dating Paul McCartney and he wrote that song for them. To Paul, it was a throwaway song.

    The song was written by Lennon & McCartney…

    Showing my age, too. If I recall correctly, Paul McCartney was dating Peter Asher’s sister.

    14 yr old girls were interested in that kind of stuff. We even went to see the movie The Masque of the Red Death, because she had a part in it.
