    I had a deal with my kids… we pay for checkups, THEY pay for fillings. Worked like a charm, no cavities until the eldest lived on his own. Still no cavities for your youngest (37 yrs old now).

    Brushing your teeth correctly may help prevent cavities, but some people just don’t have strong teeth, so all the brushing, flossing, anti-cavity rinses, et al, doesn’t really help prevent cavities. Your kids just have strong teeth.

    Brushing is okay, but it doesn’t stop teeth from cracking or roots from dying.

    I used to ask my kids, “if I smell your breath would I think you’d brushed your teeth?” They’d cover their mouths like Toby here.
