Not even the cafeteria is fun at school. First, it’s crowded. Second, the food is crap. Third, it’s at school!

I totally understand you Charlotte, same thing happened when I was in Grade 2

Did … somebody take the color?

Is that a ghost, a tooth or Cthulhu?

No color again????

Oof! This one really takes me back to middle school . . . in the worst way . . . eating alone in a corner after one of the girls I had been eating with all year spent one lunch period going on and on about how all her friends would be at her birthday party . . . and I was apparently the only person at the table who hadn’t been invited. The way she kept emphasizing the phrase “all my friends will be there,” and the sense that I was completely invisible cut me to the core. Not one of them ever said anything about my sudden departure from the group.

Good for Charlotte for establishing her dignity.

Where’s the color?!

This brings back memories and feelings I don’t want to remember

Who is “us”? If Dana’s at that table, it’s going to be a pretty miserable lunch for Charlotte.

So if the comic is reviving lots of flashbacks/bad, sad, glad memories, does that mean Steenz is doing a good job of getting the story across? :o)
