He’s so old that he drank out of those bottles when the caps were on and the grasshoppers were still hopping.

I do, they were an abomination! I took mine back the next day and got an old-fashioned green screen!

I remember amber screens, but fortunately never owned one. I was taught about tubes in the Air Force, but also about transistors. Integrated circuits were just getting started. Modems were huge things with several boards. I’m glad I outlived all that.

I remember rotary phones, wall phones, princess phones, party lines, and coin phones when they were a quarter not a nickel.

“a phone call, coke, newspaper, cigar, five pieces of penny candy, candy bar, cup of coffee.” All for one nickle? You must be the oldest person here. My parents got those for a nickle each.

I have no idea what “graphos” or “pentodes” are, but from context I assume they’re vacuum tubes.

I remember pay phones being a dime, a nickle was before my time, but at this point you’re getting old if you remember pay phones at all.

Ole Blue Eyes is Frank Sinatra. You know you’re old when you say to your co-workers-“When I was in high school I only learned how to type-on manual typewriters!”.

A pentode is a triode with two more grids — suppressor and screen grids.

Speaking of electronics – you still call condensers, condensers like I do!

You still carry a slide rule around in your pocket.

You still call Armistice Day, Armistice Day. And you know what it was celebrating!! (It was NOT honoring veterans, it was CELEBRATING that the goddamn war was FINALLY over with!!!)

Hey; all of that stuff is obsolete and we are going strong? at least to the bathroom. Maybe they should call it the March to Obsolesce?
