I do believe and adhere to all the CDC recommendations. Except for trips to the grocery store or the drugstore, I pretty much stay at home. I do wear a mask when going into those stores, but otherwise I do not. Not even when out for a walk. Of course, if I see someone coming towards me, I ether go into the street, or go completely across the street in order to avoid those folks. I live alone, so I do not have to consider anyone else when at home.
As of this Saturday the 23rd, NJ beaches will be open with lifeguards and beach patrol on duty. 1. Yippee I work beach patrol. 2. boo hiss I must deal with the knuckleheads who, smoke, bring booze, do not social distance and fail to wear face coverings; all of which are cause to remove the offender from the sand.Oh, and when we posted the FACE MASKS MUST BE WORN ON BOARDWALKS AND BEACHES sign, a teenage knucklehead actually asked me if she had to wear a bathing suit if her face was covered.
Come on, you guys. Grow a pair. If you’re still shivering in your timbers over a virus that is no worse than the annual flu and which swept the country months before if became the stuff of your leaders’ authoritarian wet dreams, then do stay home and rot. But don’t bother interfering with the lives and businesses of the rest of the country. Where I live, many of us have been going about our business unmasked and guess what! The infection/hospitalization/death rate has still gone down like it is anywhere they aren’t intentionally inflating the stats by labeling every health issue and death as being from COVID.
