A few sites out there speculate Charlie Brown as the hen pecked husband of no other than Lucy, as he makes an excellent scratching post for her.

“Who is kind? Am I?” philosophizes Charlie Brown in the second panel. Doesn’t sound right, though. “Whose kind” would be correct.
