And today,50 years later, Linus would be telling her,“Or get out the DVD player,and watch a movie on DVD,”or,“You could play some CDs,”or,even,“Watch some videos on Youtube,”I could go on forever,listing luxuries in technology that didn’t exist in 1966.

This was the era that gave rise to TV being referred to as “the boob tube”, when there was the same effect on the truly addicted viewers that we have nowadays with Smartphones. (“Stupidphones” for the effect they have on the similarly addicted.)
